Maharashtra to conduct mega recruitment drive for 8500 vacancies – Gets approval from Energy Minister. Maharashtra State Government Energy Minister Dr Nitin Raut gave approval for the mega recruitment drive which contains 8500 vacancies. This recruitment will be conducted by Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (Mahatransco). This recruitment drive includes technicians and engineers posts.
This announcement was confirmed by the State Energy Minister. According to the official statement the recruitment contains 6750 technical cadre post and 1762 engineer posts. This was approved after the manpower review meeting held at Secretariat on 23 October 2020.
On the manpower review meeting, officials informed about the vacant seats to the State Energy Minister and about the existing vacancies created a burden on the workforce creating industrial tension.
As per the Official announcement, both the Technician and operator category will be merged into one category because they both have common ITI qualification. It would open a promotion channel for them. During the meeting Raut advised to provide training to the existing workforce for multi task skill development.
The Official of Mahatransco also confirmed that once the recruitment process is completed, promotion channels would become available for the employees according to their performance level.
